Under current law, a county is authorized to operate a relief program for certain individuals who reside in the county, based on eligibility criteria set by the county.
The county program may provide services, commodities, or money and may contain a work component. Current law also authorizes a county to appropriate money to provide emergency energy supplies to individuals or to provide grants to community action agencies or municipalities to assist individuals with the purchase of such supplies.
