October 10, 1836, is the birthday of William D. Hoard, who was this state's 16th
governor and a leading promoter of the dairy industry.
A legal holiday is not counted when determining if a legal document has been
submitted, answered, or filed in a timely manner. Elections cannot be held on legal
holidays. This bill does not affect the number of paid holidays for public employees.
