What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the operation of motor vehicles, including all-terrain
vehicles, is prohibited in or on a navigable body of water or on the exposed bed of a
body of water. Exceptions to this prohibition include operating a motor vehicle on
a frozen body of water, while crossing a stream, or in conjunction with an agricultural
activity. This bill creates an additional exception which authorizes a motor vehicle's
use in order to destroy or prevent the spread of aquatic or terrestrial invasive species.
