What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, a local religious, charitable, service, fraternal, or veterans

organization, or other local organization to which donations are tax deductible, is

eligible for a license to conduct a raffle. "Local organization" is defined as an

organization whose activities are limited to this state or to a specific geographical

area within this state. This bill amends the definition of a "local organization," for

purposes of eligibility for a raffle license, to include an organization whose activities

are limited to a specific geographical area that is partly within this state and partly

within another state.
