What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, certain highway routes and bridges have been designated

and marked to memorialize, commemorate, or recognize certain individuals, groups,

or events. This bill directs the Department of Transportation (DOT) to designate and

mark a portion of the route of I 43 within the city of Milwaukee as the "Jeannetta

Simpson-Robinson Memorial Highway" in recognition and appreciation of the good

works of Jeannetta Simpson-Robinson, a lifelong community leader and activist,

who championed the poor, the disadvantaged, children, and peaceful non-violent

resolutions to conflicts.
