What this bill does

Beginning July 1, 2011, this bill prohibits the Milwaukee Public Schools from

requiring, as a condition of employment, that a teacher reside within the school

district. The bill defines "teacher" as any person whose employment by a school

district requires that he or she hold a license or permit issued by the state

superintendent of public instruction.
