What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Currently under the Workforce Advancement Training Program, the Technical

College System Board (TCSB) may award a grant to a technical college district board

to provide skills training or other education to a business if the business is located

in this state and has no more than 100 employees or had no more than $10,000,000

in gross annual income in its most recent fiscal year.

This bill expands the program to businesses with no more than 250 employees.

In addition, the bill allows the TCSB to award a grant to provide assistance with

market expansion or business diversification.
