What this bill does

Under current law, the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS)

regulates the construction, installation, and maintenance of plumbing. Plumbing

includes piping, appliances, and equipment in connection with water systems,

including water distribution systems, wastewater drainage systems, and

stormwater use systems. The definition also includes water treatment devices

connected with these systems. This bill excludes residential water treatment devices

from the definition of plumbing.
