What this bill does

This bill requires the Department of Transportation (DOT) to maintain a

toll-free telephone number for Wisconsin residents to communicate with DOT

regarding motor vehicle registration or the renewal of operator's licenses. DOT must

publicize this toll-free telephone number on its Web site and arrange for inclusion

of this number in appropriate telephone directories. In addition, DOT must include

this toll-free telephone number on notices of renewal for vehicle registration and

operator's licenses.
