What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Department of Children and Families makes grants to

nonprofit corporations, public agencies, and American Indian tribes or bands

(organizations) to provide domestic abuse services, including shelter facilities,

advocacy and counseling, 24-hour telephone service, and community education.

This bill increases the funding that may be provided to organizations for the listed

domestic abuse services by $2,000,000 of general purpose revenue in each fiscal year

of this biennium.
