Current law authorizes the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to make grants for programs to connect schools with nearby farms to provide children with locally produced foods, provide nutritional and agricultural education, and improve farmers' incomes. The 2013-15 budget act, 2013 Wisconsin Act 20 , did not provide funding for these farm to school grants. This bill provides funding for farm to school grants in the 2013-15 fiscal biennium.
