Under statutory provisions that will become law on April 1, 2013, a person may not work as a master, journeyman, beginning, or apprentice electrician or as an electrical contractor unless the person is licensed or registered with the Department of Safety and Professional Services. This law, and rules promulgated pursuant to this law, impose various experience, training, examination, and other requirements on applicants for these licenses, depending on the type of license being issued. This bill changes the effective date of these statutory provisions to April 1, 2014.
