What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services (DHS) to award grants to
counties to establish mental health mobile crisis teams to serve individuals having
mental health crises in rural areas. The total amount of the moneys to be awarded
as grants in each fiscal biennium is $250,000 under the bill, and DHS pays those
grants from general purpose revenue. For each grant awarded, DHS shall award the
county an amount that is one-half the amount the county provides to establish
mobile crisis teams.
