What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) supervises a

state park system, which includes a system of state trails that are open for use by

persons such as equestrians, bicyclists, and hikers. The bill eliminates this list of

specific persons who may use state trails. The bill also authorizes DNR to include

water trails in this state trail system. Water trails are used for recreational activities

such as canoeing and motorboating.
