What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, each individual who signs a nomination paper for a

candidate to appear on an election ballot, or who signs a referendum or recall

petition, must also list the municipality where the individual resides for voting

purposes, the street and number, if any, of the address where the individual resides,

and the date on which the individual signed the paper. This bill also requires that

each individual who signs a nomination paper or petition legibly print his or her

name in a space provided next to his or her signature.
