What this bill does

This bill exempts a person who is 62 years of age or older from having to pay

a fee for requesting that a consumer credit reporting agency do any of the following:

1) include a security freeze with the person's consumer credit report; 2) release the

person's report despite a security freeze; or 3) remove a security freeze from the

person's report. Under current law, a security freeze on a person's consumer credit

report prohibits consumer credit reporting agencies from releasing the report to any

person for any purpose related to the extension of credit without prior authorization.
