What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the annual salary of the attorney general is 18 percent above

the minimum of the salary range for executive salary group ten. (The annual salary

of the current attorney general is $142,966.) This bill provides that the annual salary

of the attorney general is $132,966. Because the Wisconsin Constitution prohibits

any decrease in compensation for a public officer during the term in office, this bill

will reduce the annual salary of the attorney general during the next term of office.
