What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current rules promulgated by the Department of Transportation, no
human services vehicle driver may require or allow any passenger to stand while the
vehicle is in motion and may not move the vehicle until all passengers are seated.
Under this bill, these restrictions do not apply to a passenger with a medical
condition that prevents sitting as certified by a medical practitioner.
