What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under this bill, a lease for a copier or printer is void and unenforceable unless

it contains the cost to purchase, upgrade, or return the copier or printer and to renew

the lease, and the formulas used to calculate these costs; and a statement that the

lessor will respond within five business days of receiving a lessee's request to

purchase, upgrade, or return the copier or printer or to renew the lease. Under the

bill, a copier or printer servicing agreement that includes normal or customary parts

is void and unenforceable unless it contains a reasonable length of time during which

the parts will be available.
