What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Current law permits the Department of Workforce Development to set

minimum ages for hazardous employment for minors. Under that authority, DWD

has, by rule, prohibited minors 14 and 15 years of age from being employed as

lifeguards. This bill requires DWD to permit minors 15 years of age or older to be

employed as lifeguards.
