What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
Under this bill, a person who receives a notice of approval to obtain a wild
turkey hunting license and tag from the Department of Natural Resources may
transfer his or her approval to another person who is otherwise eligible to obtain a
wild turkey hunting license.
Under current law, if DNR requires wild turkey hunting licenses and the
number of applications for wild turkey hunting tags for a given zone or period
exceeds the number of available tags, DNR is required to issue licenses and tags for
that zone or period according to a cumulative preference system. DNR then notifies
applicants selected to receive a license and tag, which are issued upon payment of
the license fee.
