The bill specifies that the eight senators and eight representatives to the assembly who serve on the Joint Committee on Finance must consist of five senators chosen from the majority party, three senators chosen from the minority party, five representatives chosen from the majority party, and three representatives chosen from the minority party. There is no existing requirement relating to the partisan makeup of JCF.
This bill also provides that JCF may not consider or take executive action on any motion offered at committee unless the motion has been distributed to all members of JCF at least 24 hours before JCF considers or takes executive action on the motion. The motion must also be posted on the Legislative Fiscal Bureau's Internet site at least 24 hours before JCF considers or takes executive action on the motion.
