What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Department of Veterans Affairs may make payments to

certain state veterans organizations who apply for funding. The amount payable is

equal to 50 percent of all salaries and travel expenses of the employees of the

organization who are engaged in veterans claims service activities during the

funding application period or $100,000, whichever is less. Under this bill, the

funding limit is increased from $100,000 to $175,000.
