What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
Under this bill, local organizations may obtain licenses to conduct raffles only
if they meet all of the following: the organization's headquarters are located in, or the
organization is a local chapter located in, Wisconsin, the organization expends a
majority of its total funds raised on activities in Wisconsin, and the organization
limits expenditure of raffle proceeds to activities in Wisconsin or in an area that is
partly in Wisconsin and partly in another state. Currently, a local organization is
allowed to conduct a raffle if its activities are limited to this state, a specific
geographical area within this state, or a specific geographical area that is partly
within this state and partly within another state.
