What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill makes changes to the composition of the Southeastern Wisconsin Fox
River Commission for the Illinois Fox River basin.
Current law establishes the commission and grants to it the authority to
develop and carry out certain plans, projects, and programs to improve water quality
and recreation in the Fox River system between the northern boundary of the city
of Waukesha and the point immediately below the Waterford Dam. The commission
is governed by a board of commissioners consisting, among others, of the mayors,
village presidents, or town board chairpersons of each municipality adjacent to the
Fox River system in Waukesha and Racine counties, or their designees. This bill
removes from the commission the town board chairperson of the town of Salem or his
or her designee and the village president of the village of Silver Lake or his or her
designee, and adds to the commission the village president of the village of Salem
Lakes or his or her designee.
