Under current law, as provided in 2019 Wisconsin Act 42 , any city, village, town, or county, including the city of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County, may adopt a biennial budget process. If the city, village, town, or county adopts a biennial budget, it must adopt the budget in an odd-numbered year. Under this bill, a city, village, town, or county may adopt a biennial budget in any year.
