What this bill does

Under current law, with certain exceptions, no person may enter or remain on

railroad tracks. The prohibition does not apply to the use of public highways or to

a person driving across a railroad from one part of the person's land to another,

among other things.

This bill provides that the prohibition on entering or remaining on railroad

tracks does not apply to a person walking directly across the tracks or right-of-way

of a railroad.
