This bill provides that vehicle admission receipts and state trail passes issued by the Department of Natural Resources are valid for one year from the date of issue, rather than only during the calendar year in which they were issued.
Under current law, no person may operate a vehicle in any state park or in certain other recreational areas on state land unless the vehicle displays a vehicle admission receipt. Current law requires DNR to issue an annual vehicle admission receipt that is valid for the calendar year for which it is issued. Under the bill, an annual vehicle admission receipt must state the date on which it is issued and is valid for one year after that date.
