What this bill does

Under this bill, the Department of Transportation is required to develop and

administer a local traffic calming grant program. Under the program, DOT awards

grants to counties, cities, villages, and towns for projects to reduce the speed of

vehicular traffic in areas of high pedestrian use for the purpose of improving

pedestrian safety.
