What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, a proposed adoptive parent must complete 25 hours of

pre-adoption training. Of these 25 hours, 6 hours must be completed in person and

6 hours must be targeted toward the specific needs of the child to be adopted. This

bill allows adoptive parents to complete the in-person training requirements

through a live videoconference.
