This bill requires each Wisconsin law enforcement agency that has a website to provide a link on its website home page to a clear description of the process by which an individual may file a formal complaint regarding his or her interaction with a law enforcement officer. The bill also requires each Wisconsin law enforcement agency to provide to each of its law enforcement officers an information card that contains the officer's name, the officer's badge number, the telephone number of the officer's direct supervisor, and either a link to the law enforcement agency's formal complaint web page or, if the law enforcement agency doesn't have a website, a clear description of the process by which an individual may file a formal complaint regarding his or her interaction with the law enforcement officer. The bill also requires each Wisconsin law enforcement officer to provide such an information card upon request to any individual with whom he or she comes into contact in his or her official capacity.
