What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

This bill modifies and creates administrative rules to require reimbursement

of group physical therapy under the Medical Assistance program. Under current

administrative rules, group physical therapy is not a covered service. Under the bill,

“group physical therapy” means a physical therapy session at which there are more

than one but not more than 10 recipients receiving services together from one or two

providers. The bill specifies that physical therapy aides may not be reimbursed for

group physical therapy. The Medical Assistance program is a joint state and federal

program that provides health services to individuals who have limited financial

resources.
