What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Department of Corrections must submit a report to the

Joint Committee on Finance and to the legislature regarding overtime in state

correctional institutions. The report must identify the institution, the amounts and

costs of the overtime, and the reason for the overtime. Under current law, the report

is a biennial report that DOC must submit on or before January 1 of each

odd-numbered year. This bill changes it to an annual report that DOC must submit

on or before January 1 of each year.
