Under current law, the state superintendent must reimburse a school board or

the governing body of a private school or tribal school for each breakfast served at

a school that meets certain federal regulatory requirements. Current law contains

a reference to a federal regulation that was, by rule, deleted and incorporated into

current federal school breakfast regulations. This bill removes that reference.

The bill repeals a provision that 1) until the end of the 1971-72 school year,

prohibited the issuance of a certificate or license to teach in any public school unless

the applicant had completed two years of post-high school education devoted to

pedagogical instruction and training; and 2) allowed any teacher who taught in any

public school during or before the 1937-38 school year to continue to teach in public

schools without complying with that educational requirement.
