Under this bill, the Department of Public Instruction must contract with a nonprofit organization to establish a fine arts teacher mentorship program to provide materials and services, including resources, advice, and mentorship connections, to beginning music, art, and performing arts teachers. The nonprofit organization must match the amount provided by DPI for the mentorship program.
The nonprofit organization must also provide a quarterly report to DPI on the organization's compliance with the mentorship program requirements and its expenditures on the mentorship program.
