What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, all withdrawals from a bingo account must be made by
check, payable to a specific individual, including for a money prize in a bingo game.
There is one exception to this rule. If a single bingo prize is divided among more than
one winner and an equal division of the prize is $10 or less for each winner, the check
for the total prize may be made out to cash and the winners may be paid with cash
from the check. This bill increases the amount per winner from $10 to $25 for this
exception to apply.
