What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Current rules promulgated by the Department of Transportation establish

limitations on the degree to which motor vehicle windows may be tinted. This bill

provides that the limitations do not apply to vehicles owned by the state or a county,

city, village, or town when tinting is necessary for the protection of personnel,

passengers, or equipment.
