Current law requires the Board of Regents of the UW System to annually award Wisconsin Merit scholarships in the amount of $5,000 to UW System students.

These scholarships are paid from the normal school fund from an appropriation balance after certain other expenses are paid, but scholarships may not be awarded on or after April 1, 2023.

This bill eliminates the April 1, 2023, sunset date for these UW System merit scholarships.
