What this bill does

This bill requires the Department of Health Services to encourage the

development, expansion, and quality control of networks of recovery residences and

to allocate moneys to create a grant program for establishing recovery residences or

a network of recovery residences or to award grants for purposes specified in the bill.

Current law defines a “recovery residence” as a home-like, residential environment

that promotes healthy recovery from a substance use disorder and supports a

person's recovery from a substance use disorder through the use of peer recovery

support.
