This bill increases the appropriation moneys available to the Department of
Health Services by $20,000,000 during the 2023-25 fiscal biennium to fund the state
share for supplemental payments under the Medical Assistance program to
hospitals with avoidable patient days and by $10,000,000 during the 2023-25 fiscal
biennium to fund an enhanced reimbursement rate under the Medical Assistance
program for addressing the needs of nursing home residents with bariatric and
extensive wound care needs. The bill also increases the appropriation moneys
available to DHS by $15,000,000 during the 2023-25 fiscal biennium to provide
funding for the complex patient pilot program, while decreasing the amount
appropriated to the Joint Committee on Finance for supplemental appropriations for
fiscal year 2023-24 by $5,000,000 to adjust for moneys that were previously
appropriated to JCF in the 2023 biennial budget act for the complex patient pilot
program.
