What this bill does

Under this bill, it is a Class A misdemeanor to picket, parade, or demonstrate

at or near any residence occupied by a judge with the intent to interfere with,

obstruct, or impede the administration of justice or with the intent to influence any

judge in the discharge of his or her duty. A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by

a fine of up to $10,000 or imprisonment not to exceed nine months, or both.

Because this bill creates a new crime or revises a penalty for an existing crime,

the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties may be requested to prepare a

report.
