What this bill does
Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, there is the Office of School Safety in the Department of
Justice. This bill increases the number of positions for the office by 14.2 project
positions starting January 1, 2025, and ending September 30, 2025. The bill
provides funding for the positions from the fees that DOJ collects for issuing licenses
to carry concealed weapons.
