What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

This bill provides that projects for the reduction of infiltration and inflow in

connecting laterals and sewer lines are eligible for funding under the Clean Water

Fund Program (CWFP) administered by the Department of Natural Resources.

Under current law, the CWFP provides financial assistance to municipalities

for projects to control water pollution. Certain types of projects are ineligible for

program funding, including projects involving connection laterals and sewer lines

that transport wastewater from structures to municipally owned or individually

owned wastewater systems.
