What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Current law limits a political subdivision’s authority to regulate the short term rental of residences. Specifically, under current law, a political subdivision may not prohibit the rental of a residence for seven consecutive days or longer and, in general, may not limit the rental of certain residential properties to fewer than 180 days in a year. This bill eliminates these limitations on a political subdivision’s authority.
