What this bill does

Under this bill, the Department of Public Instruction must establish a grant program to award grants to school districts that construct playgrounds that are accessible to pupils with disabilities or upgrade playgrounds to make them accessible to pupils with disabilities. Each grant to a school district may not exceed the amount the school district expended in constructing or upgrading a playground. The bill provides $1,000,000 to DPI in each of fiscal years 2025-26 and 2026-27 for the grants.
