What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Department of Natural Resources issues approvals that authorize hunting, fishing, and trapping of wild animals. DNR issues a fishing license and a sports license, both of which authorize a person to fish in the waters of this state. However, a holder of one of these licenses may not fish for trout in inland waters unless the person also holds an inland waters trout stamp. This bill increases the fee for an inland waters trout stamp from $9.75 to $15.75.
