What this bill does

This bill increases the amount appropriated to the Joint Committee on Finance for supplemental appropriations as follows:
1. To provide grants to school boards that enter into a whole grade sharing agreement, $2,700,000.
2. To provide additional state aid to consolidated school districts if the consolidated school district’s maximum allowable levy rate is greater than the lowest levy rate of the school districts that were consolidated to create the school district, $3,000,000.
3. To reimburse school boards for costs incurred for feasibility studies for school district consolidation or a whole grade sharing, $250,000.
The bill also requires the Department of Public Instruction to submit a request to JCF to supplement DPI appropriations for the purposes described above.
