What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Current law authorizes the Department of Children and Families to contract with one or more agencies for the provision of training and technical assistance to improve the quality of child care provided in this state. Under current law, these contracts are funded from an allocation of federal moneys, including child care development funds and moneys received under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families block grant program. This bill appropriates $2,166,600 in general purpose revenue funding in each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium for contracts that focus on workforce training for child care providers and prospective providers.
