What this bill does

Plain-language analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Reference Bureau

Under current law, the Natural Resources Board may sell lands and structures owned by the state that are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Natural Resources when the board determines that the lands are no longer necessary for the state’s use for conservation purposes.

This bill authorizes the board to also sell such lands that are adjacent to or within one mile of a commercial egg farm to prevent the spread of avian flu.
