What this bill does

This bill requires the Department of Transportation to inquire whether an applicant for an operator’s license or identification card wants to provide names and contact information for up to three individuals for whom the applicant is the primary caregiver. If an applicant provides contact information, DOT must record that information in DOT’s file for the applicant. DOT must provide a method for a law enforcement agency that identifies a person to electronically request and automatically receive the contact information recorded in the person’s file, as well as any emergency contact information recorded in the person’s file.
